About Us

Who we are

and

What we do

At the Humane Society of Davidson County, we believe that every animal deserves a loving and caring home. We work tirelessly to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need, and find them forever homes. Our all volunteer team is committed to ensuring the well-being and happiness of every pet. Join us in our mission to make a difference in the lives of animals.

MISSION:  It is our mission to prevent the needless suffering and death of companion animals in our community by providing low cost spay and neuter, and excellent veterinary services to those animals in our care.

VISION:  Facilitate ways to eradicate pet overpopulation and reduce suffering by:

1.  Educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter.

2.  Encourage quality veterinarian care and accessible spay and neuter services.

3.  Advocating to reduce the number of homeless pets in our community.

4.  Building a community that promotes compassion, empathy, and responsible pet ownership.

Pet Food Pantry

We understand that pet food can be a significant expense for some families. Our pet food pantry provides assistance to low-income pet owners, ensuring that their furry friends never go hungry.  Our Pantry is held the 1st Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Please bring copy of your Public Assistance paperwork and a current Rabies Certification of your animals.  We are located at 1120 Piedmont Drive, Lexington, NC and come to back of the building at roll up door area.  If you need a Pet Pantry Form you can retrieve one from our Forms & Donation Tab at the top of the page.

40 OAKS PROPERTIES here in Davidson County has been our Corporate Sponsor for pet food for low income families.  They were absolutely an answer to prayer.  Since they came on board, we are able to operate every month instead of every other month.
